Mr Frank Daws - In Memoriam

This page is dedicated to my Dad, Mr Frank Daws. He was born on September 16 1922 in London, and died on October 5 2002 at the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher. The picture was taken by my sister Elizabeth in the early 1990s, and shows him in his greenhouse, admiring some of the grapes he grew there. It must have been a good summer that year!

During his last spell in hospital, at the request of my sister Anne, Dad wrote down some (typically tongue-in-cheek) memories of his time in India during the 2nd World War, when he served in both the British and Indian armies. You can read a transcription of his notes by clicking here. Under the notes is a link to a memorial guestbook, which you are warmly encouraged to sign.

Dad was a very special person, loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He will be sadly missed by us all.
